Seated Woman with Chevron Print Dress

The Saturday and Sunday at the Met series takes place in the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium and offers lectures, films, panel discussions, literary presentations, and musical performances centered around a special exhibition or art historical theme. These programs are free with Museum admission.

The Philippe de Montebello Years: Curators Celebrate Three Decades of Acquisitions
Sunday, January 25, 3:00 p.m.

The acquisition of works of art is central to the mission of the Museum and has been a hallmark of the directorship of Philippe de Montebello. This program offers the first public viewing of the 2008 Metropolitan Museum of Art Acquisitions Fund Benefit Video, followed by a panel discussion with Museum curators. The Essential Art of African Textiles: Design Without End
Sunday, February 1, 2:00 p.m.

Textiles have been an important form of aesthetic expression throughout the histories of African cultures. In this program, visitors will be treated to a series of lectures by curators and other experts on topics related to the current exhibition. Calder Jewelry
Saturday, February 7, 2:00 p.m.

Held in conjunction with the current exhibition of the same name, this lecture and film program highlights the inventive jewelry created by Alexander Calder (American, 1898–1976). See the calendar for more information.
